Arley Hall wedding photography – Lauren and Andy
It was fourth time lucky for Lauren and Andy. Covid had led to them postponing their wedding date four times, what a nightmare! These two were amazing though, they were so determined to get their wedding celebration that they took all the date changes on the chin and remained positive. It all finally came together in August last year, the sun shone and they go the outdoor wedding they had spent years dreaming of.
Weddings at Arley Hall and Gardens
Arley Hall and Gardens is a stunning stately home in Cheshire. You’ll probably recognise it, Tommy Shelby hung out there for three seasons of Peaky Blinders. It’s also an incredible wedding venue and I was really looking forward to heading there for the first time for Lauren and Andy’s wedding.
There are three different ceremony spaces at Arley Hall, the Hall itself, the Cruck Barn and the Gardens. Lauren and Andy had long been picturing their wedding ceremony outside in the gardens and had been keeping everything crossed that the weather would play ball. It did! They said their vows under a dazzling blue sky next to the beautiful double herbaceous border.
Greek themed wedding
Lauren loves Greece, and they’re both big fans of Greek food, so they went for a Mediterranean / Greek theme for their day. Fittingly, the courtyard where they held the drinks reception is called Olympia!
Beautiful olive trees stood in the middle of each table surrounded by lemons, garlands of olive leaves and candles. As an extra touch mini shots of ouzo sat at each table setting!
Lauren’s favourite colour is mint green, it reminds her of summers spent in Greece. Her bridesmaids looked stunning in mint green dresses and the men had ties and pocket squares in the same colour. It all looked fab. Of course their Greek theme wouldn’t be complete without a Greek menu which went down an absolute storm with their guests.
I always love it when couples add such personal touches and ideas throughout the day. I know how much Greece means to Lauren so it was lovely to see how she’d incorporated it in their wedding.
You all know I’m not one for typical wedding traditions, but I’m hoping Lauren and Andy’s idea of a ‘first shot’ catches on! Just before the evening do started they gathered their closest friends around them for jaeger bombs. That’s one way to get the party started!
I absolutely loved shooting Lauren and Andy’s Arley Hall wedding, such a great venue and I can’t wait to head back there again. If you’re planning a wedding at Arley Hall and are on the hunt for a photographer then get in touch!
